\nThe clothing if the Sui and the Tang dynasties are clearly defined into four kinds sacrificial clothing, imperial court dresses, office dresses and everyday clothes. The civil official formally wears the Jin De hat, a vest on top of a short wide-sleeved red rob, white trousers and black shoes. His hands seem to hold a Huban (a reminder or prompter). The military officer wears a helmet, a set of armor covered with a green cape, and a war skirt, with his right hand in fist and left arm cranked holding a sword seemingly. This figure is different from the usual glazed pottery ones because of its special sophisticated decoration technique. This type of painted glazed pottery figure stopped it production after the emergence of tri-colored pottery articles, thus had great historical and artistic value.
